Le Mera Gardens farms beautiful organic specialty cut flowers, foliage, branches and berries for our local Southern Oregon and Northern California communities. Thanks to the generous growing season and fertile soils of the Rogue River Valley we are able to grow an ever expanding array of seasonal cuts that are lively, fragrant, colorful, out of the ordinary, as well as standards of the florist trade. We like to grow and sell those all time favorites, but also the rare and unusual. (See Our Picking Schedule Archive) Our farm sites are Oregon Tilth certified organic. Our farming practices respect the farmlands that have been entrusted to us. Our mission is to showcase the flowers that can be grown locally in our rich agricultural region.
Our customers include florists, designers, special events organizers, wedding parties, bed & breakfast establishments, caterers, medical buildings, supermarkets, restaurants, coffee shops, and charities. Le Mera Gardens is easily accessible on the I-5 corridor. We do weekly home and office deliveries of bulk flowers by subscription.
Here is a little story/video about picking and storing peonies, on our farms or in your garden, kindly produced by David Perry of A Fresh Bouquet: http://afreshbouquet.com/2010/05/10/empowered-peony-picking/
Posted May 11, 2010 "Neither Rain, Nor Sleet, Nor gloom of night," the Postal Service's slogan could well be applied to us flower farmers. While it rains and snows on our Valley's hills and flatland, worry not! we are still farming, planting, picking. Yesterday I picked sweet peas, a few chrysanthemums and dahlias (the magic of season extension under cover), lilies, sweet william, snowball viburnum, lamb's ear, a dwindling crop of anemone and ranunculus, a few tall stems of lupine, long canes of ninebark, and I watched the peonies getting fat - the list is growing every week. Yes, it was cold, but very pretty. |
